The Blue Elk Inn is an independent hotel owned by James Weimann of Weimann Maclise Restaurants. James purchased the Alpen Rose Inn in 2019 and renamed it the Blue Elk Inn in 2020. Originally built in 1994 by the Watson Family, each owner of the inn has held the same intent over the years: to create a comfortable home-away-from-home surrounded by the beautiful scenery and welcoming community that this region offers. Since purchasing the hotel in 2019, James has re-envisioned the property and made many changes and improvements to modernize the hotel while still keeping with the same spirit of a cozy mountain B&B.
